5. Baltimore Ravens

If the Baltimore Ravens were looking to make a statement last weekend over being a top team to beat in the AFC, they certainly did so after handing the New England Patriots their first loss of 2019.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Over the years, the Ravens have always been known for having a top defense in the NFL, but the offense has made a huge difference-maker dating back to last season as a result of Lamar Jackson taking over at quarterback.

Moving on from Joe Flacco during the offseason seemed like a risky move at the time since it never hurts to have insurance at quarterback, but watching this offense transform under Jackson has been incredible to witness.

Shredding the defense of the Patriots the way Jackson did makes it seem like the Louisville product deserves to be part of the MVP conversation.

But before jumping too far ahead, Jackson and the Ravens need to be fully focused on making sure they don’t allow the Cincinnati Bengals to earn their first win of 2019 on Sunday.

From a realistic standpoint, this should be one of those games in which Baltimore jumps out to a quick lead, and never looks back, but since this is a rivalry game, the Ravens better be extra cautious when facing the Bengals.
