16. Haskins wins first career game

Finally, the Washington Redskins recently announced that Dwayne Haskins will be the starter for the remainder of the season to give the rookie an opportunity to prove himself worthy of being the future franchise quarterback.

Despite the Redskins using a first-round pick on the Ohio State product back in April, there’s been debate over whether Haskins is the right answer for Washington in the long run, but also it’s still way too early to determine that answer.

Until the Redskins provide the proper protection from the offensive line along with the necessary weapons to work with, it’s going to be difficult to determine what kind of potential Haskins truly has.

Throwing Haskins in the fire by making him the starter for the remainder of the season may not seem like the best move for Washington, but at least it will give the team something to work with in regards to the future.

And who knows, with Haskins and the Redskins having a favorable matchup scheduled for Sunday against the New York Jets, maybe the rookie will be in position to earn his first career win as a NFL starter.

Long shot or not, this could be the best chance for Haskins to do so.
