Week 15 vs. Carolina Panthers

At 5-4, the Panthers are still fighting for a playoff push. Unfortunately, neither the team’s offense nor defense is strong enough to compete with the best teams in the league. Despite Christian McCaffrey‘s MVP-caliber performances, Carolina’s offense is 21st in yards per game. The defense is equally pedestrian, ranking 20th in yards allowed per game.

Without a premier offensive threat outside of McCaffrey and a bottom-five run defense, the Panthers play to Seattle’s strengths. As long as Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright slow down McCaffrey a little, the Seahawks have this game in the bag.

Kyle Allen has been average for Carolina. He only has two games with a passer rating over 100.0 and only has one game with 300 passing yards. After not throwing any interceptions in his first four starts this year, he’s thrown five in the last three weeks. Allen is a solid quarterback, but he won’t go out and win a team games as Wilson will.

Predicted outcome: Win

Week 16 vs. Arizona Cardinals

The Seahawks defeated the Cardinals 27-10 in their first meeting this season. Even with Patrick Peterson back from suspension, Arizona has no chance in the rematch. To their credit, the Cardinals have amassed some promising young pieces, but they’re a few years away from competing with the Seahawks.

The Cardinals are 18th in offensive yards per game and are allowing the second-most yards per game on defense. Even if Kyler Murray can gash Seattle’s secondary, Arizona will be outpaced by Seattle’s offense.

The Seahawks can’t take Arizona as lightly as they did in 2018. In their two wins against the Cardinals that year, the Seahawks won by six combined points. This late in the year, Seattle can’t play down to their opponents.

Predicted outcome: Win
