Scouting Report. DL. player. Jordan Elliott. 5. 822. Pick Analysis. Missouri

Via Cleveland Browns (Wyatt Teller trade)

The first of two picks in the fifth-round (as well as the first of two added in the trade with the Browns for Wyatt Teller) is used to get a little more beef on the defensive line. Missouri’s Jordan Elliott is built like an NFL defensive tackle at 6-4 and 315 pounds. He also has plenty of power to go with his size.

Because of that, he has a high ceiling but there’s also some risk in taking him. Elliott plays reckless at times and loses his technique when he does so. Thankfully, this isn’t a huge position of need so they can be patient and work with him while he learns to rely on more than just his natural strength and athleticism.

LB. Kamal Martin. 5. player. 852. Scouting Report. Minnesota. Pick Analysis

Their second pick in the fifth round is used to add a stud linebacker from one of the bigger surprise schools this season. Kamal Martin has done a great job for the Minnesota Gophers, who lost their first game of the season recently. As for Martin, he’s proven to be capable of flying all over the field to make plays.

He has 49 tackles in just six games played this season and while he looks as though he loves hitting the ball carrier, he also excels in coverage. This season, Martin has two picks, which gives him four in his career. He will need to work on special teams at first, but his potential is encouraging.
