NFL Playoff Bracket 2019: Standings after Sunday in Week 11
Checking in with the 2019 NFL Playoff Bracket after Sunday’s action in Week 11 with the Cowboys taking NFC East control and the Ravens rolling to a bye.
All but one game in NFL Week 11 — Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers in Mexico City on Monday Night Football — is in the books. And with just six weeks remaining in the regular season, it’s time to start looking towards the postseason and eyeing how the 2019 NFL Playoff bracket is shaping up.
There were plenty of playoff-relevant games on Sunday throughout the NFL. The New England Patriots topping the Philadelphia Eagles not only kept the Pats as the No. 1 seed in the AFC but also, with the Dallas Cowboys winning over Detroit, gave the Cowboys a game lead and the current tiebreaker over the Eagles.
Moreover, the Baltimore Ravens shellacking (41-7) the Houston Texans kept Lamar Jackson and Co. as the No. 2 seed in the AFC but also knocked Houston out of the AFC South lead, making them a Wild Card team. Elsewhere, the San Francisco 49ers maintained their spot atop the NFC.
So how are things shaking out at this point for the postseason? Let’s take a look at the 2019 NFL Playoff bracket for each conference after Sunday in Week 11 and dive into the picture a little bit as well.
AFC Playoff Standings
6 Houston Texans (6-4) vs. 3 Indianapolis Colts (6-4)
5 Buffalo Bills (7-3) vs. 4 Kansas City Chiefs (6-4, play on Monday)
First-Round Byes: 2 Baltimore Ravens (8-2), 1 New England Patriots (9-1)
First Four Out: 7 Oakland Raiders (6-4), 8 Pittsburgh Steelers (5-5), 9 Tennessee Titans (5-5), 10 Cleveland Browns (4-6)

Outside of the Patriots and Ravens likely maintaining first-round byes and winning their divisions handily, nothing is certain in the AFC Playoff picture after 11 weeks of action.
If the Chiefs win over the Chargers on Monday night, Kansas City will move into the No. 3 seed with the Colts dropping to No. 4. But beyond that, the Oakland Raiders are nipping at the heels of both the Chiefs in the AFC West and the Texans and Bills in the Wild Card picture. Jon Gruden’s team has been playing incredibly well.
Perhaps the most interesting wrinkle looming is the Tennessee Titans. Though unspectacular, this team has been playing their best football of the season since Ryan Tannehill took over. And with crucial AFC South matchups looming and no dominant team in that division, they could make a move down the stretch coming off of their Week 11 bye.
NFC Playoff Standings
6 Minnesota Vikings (8-3) vs. 3 New Orleans Saints (8-2)
5 Seattle Seahawks (8-2) vs. 4 Dallas Cowboys (6-4)
First-Round Byes: 2 Green Bay Packers (8-2), 1 San Francisco 49ers (9-1)
First Four Out: 7 Los Angeles Rams (6-4), 8 Philadelphia Eagles (5-5), 9 Carolina Panthers (5-5), 10 Chicago Bears (4-6)
Unlike things in the AFC, it’s starting to look like the six teams that will make the NFL Playoffs out of the NFC are already set. The one uncertainty in that regard would be in the NFC East as the Cowboys sit precariously in the division lead right now but could drop from that perch as they have a brutal schedule coming down the road soon, starting next week in New England. The Eagles could very well catch up and make a run.
Where things are less certain, though, is in terms of seeding in the NFC. The Green Bay Packers were on bye in Week 11 but, with the Vikings coming from behind against Denver to win, have only a 0.5-game deficit behind their rivals. Moreover, Green Bay travels to San Francisco in Week 12, which could be a huge game for playoff implications.
Regardless, it does some inevitable that the two Wild Card spots will come out of the NFC West and NFC North this season. Whether the Seahawks win the West or if it’s the 49ers, or if the Packers or Vikings take the North, all four teams should be alive in the postseason with the way things are currently trending.
