5. Case Keenum, Washington

The Chicago Bears don’t necessarily need the biggest personality to lead the team. It’s nice, but what’s also nice is having a quarterback do his job and be dependable. This describes Case Keenum.

Keenum is a guy who can do well on a good team. Say what you want about the Chicago Bears, they are a good team that’s underachieving.

You may see the mess happening in Washington and think I’m crazy. His struggles there aren’t on him. The team, from the top to the bottom, is a mess. They had a coach who quit on his team before he was fired. The players are struggling with all aspects of the game.

When surrounded by good players, Keenum shows he could be an effective quarterback. In 2018, he started 14 games for the Minnesota Vikings and owned a record of 11-3. He took the Vikings to within a game of going to the Super Bowl. He had an interception rate of just 1.5 percent and a touchdown rate of 4.8 percent.

Keenum can come in on a short deal and compete with Trubisky for the starting spot. At this point in his career he isn’t a longterm answer but in the short term he could help a team like the Bears who are much closer to being a good team than Washington.
