Week 13 at Chiefs

When the Raiders welcomed the rival Kansas City Chiefs to Oakland in Week 2, we got our first glimpse into the type of game that can ultimately doom Jon Gruden’s team. As talented as the offense is and as well as they’ve played this season, they are in a world of trouble if they end up in a sizeable deficit. Thus, as the Chiefs poured on 28 points in the second quarter to take an 18-point lead, it was all over for the Raiders at that point.

The most troubling part of what Kansas City did to Oakland back in the second game of the season is that they were able to torch a Raiders secondary that has been suspect at many times this season without Tyreek Hill on the active roster due to injury. It was Demarcus Robinson that went off for 172 yards and two scores that day.

Of course, Hill suffered a hamstring injury in Week 11, which does put his status for the Week 13 rematch with the Raiders in jeopardy as well. However, as the first meeting showed, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs don’t need their speedy weapon to put up big numbers on the Oakland secondary in this matchup.

Given how the Raiders have progressed this season, I would expect them to keep the pace a little better with the Chiefs, even if this game is played in Kansas City. At the end of the day, though, Oakland’s offense simply isn’t constructed to either play from behind or get in a shootout, something Andy Reid surely knows and will enact again to end a four-game winning streak for the silver and black.

Predicted Outcome: Loss
