1. Packers win, 27-24

Sunday night’s game is the biggest matchup of the young NFL season thus far, and the Packers have a golden opportunity to make a statement in a crowded NFC. Currently sitting as the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff race, Green Bay has a chance to take over the No. 1 overall seed and hold the tie-breaker over San Francisco should the two teams finish with the same record at the end of the regular season.

The key to the game for the Packers will be both stopping the 49ers rushing attack and running the ball effectively on offense. Both teams have shown vulnerability in rush defense over the course of the season, and the winner of this game could very well be decided in the trenches.

Running backs Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams have been the focal points on offense all season, and we should expect much of the same against the Niners.

I’m predicting a Packers victory (27-24), especially with two key players (Joe Staley, Dee Ford) already ruled out for San Fran. Star tight end George Kittle is questionable, which could turn the tide even more in Green Bay’s favor if he misses the game.

In the end, the Packers win this game because they have the more efficient quarterback and better running backs.
