4. Pass rush gets to Rodgers 4+ times

While Dee Ford has already been ruled out for the 49ers, the success of their defensive front this season has been widely noted. Rookie Nick Bosa has taken the league by storm while interior presences in DeForest Buckner and Arik Armstead have been creating pressure in their own right. This is a team that can succeed against any offensive line and, even in a tough matchup with Green Bay, that’ll be their mission again.

My money is on the 49ers getting to Aaron Rodgers more than a couple of times on Sunday Night Football. Robert Saleh’s defense isn’t going to let the MVP-candidate quarterback beat them by himself and is going to get after him. The result will be the perennial All-Pro candidate being taken to the turf at least four times in Levi’s Stadium.

3. Niners run defense gives up 100 yards to Jones

Everything that the San Francisco 49ers defense has done against the pass this season has been phenomenal, producing one of the best pass-rushes in the league while allowing a meager 173.5 yards per game through the air. In years past, that would’ve been good enough to stop the Packers offense but, as the adage goes, this isn’t your grandpa’s Green Bay offense.

Aaron Jones has emerged as a viable No. 1 running back this season for the Packers and has been able to take advantage of favorable matchups. San Francisco is giving up 110.5 rushing yards per game this season and Jones is going to exploit that. To try and schematically negate the pass rush of San Fran, Matt LaFleur will unleash the run game and Jones will prosper as they do so.
