2. Vikings defense will bounce back

Over the course of the last few seasons, Minnesota has held one of the more dominant defensive units throughout the NFL. But in the last few weeks, this unit has taken somewhat of a step back and hasn’t been as stellar as we have been used to seeing them in the past.

In the Week 13 matchup on the road against a tough NFC opponent in the Seattle Seahawks, the Vikings defense allowed the Seahawks to go off for 37 points in the loss on Monday Night Football, but did manage to come up with a few turnovers and stops throughout the contest.

However, in the second half of the game, Minnesota’s inability to hold the passing game in check was a glaring issue, one that has continued to be an issue for the Vikings over the last few weeks of games. Minnesota’s run defense wasn’t as good as it normally has been against Seattle, either, which was surprising.

In Week 14 against a short-handed and somewhat injury-filled Detroit squad, look for Minnesota to return to its dominant form on the defensive end of the field while looking to hold the Lions offense in check and coming out with its sixth victory at home in Minneapolis so far in the 2019 campaign.
