2. J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ohio State

Ohio State did what Ohio State has done for years: beat up on Michigan. The 56-27 lopsided victory was a valiant effort anchored by running back J.K. Dobbins’ performance. The Buckeyes wrapped up the game early with the performance of Dobbins and sophomore quarterback Justin Fields. It was the running back that iced the game, however.

For the second week in a row, Ohio State leaned on the legs of the 5-10, 217-pound Dobbins who rushed 31 times for 211 yards and four touchdowns. Dobbins’ compact build and forward lean make him tough to stop for a loss. Over the past two weeks, he’s carried the ball 67 times, proving he’s a workhorse back.

He has great vision as displayed in the game against Michigan. Dobbins understands how to press the line and use cutback lanes. He’s patient but doesn’t hesitate to hit the hole. He absorbs contacts and delivers the final blow. It takes him some time to build up speed he does have breakaway ability.

On third downs, he helped protect Fields, which is something he’s done all season. Not only does he pass block but he’s a reliable receiving option. Against the Wolverines, he had two catches for 49 yards and a touchdown. Dobbins continues to run his way right into the first round.
