1. Jared Cook

The last player on the list is one that the Saints don’t utilize nearly as much as they possibly should. However, when they do, the results are always positive. For years, the team has struggled to find a decent tight end and, thankfully, it seems like Jared Cook fits the bill for 2019. In the last three games, Cook has put up solid numbers among a talented receiving corps that includes Michael Thomas.

While last week was a good game for Cook, his game against the Panthers was huge. He finished that matchup with six receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown. While he didn’t eclipse 100 yards, Cook still made every yard count.

That’s why I think he’s going to be a great asset against the 49ers this week. While the team is going to be covering Thomas heavily, Drew Brees is going to have the float the ball around all over the place.

Last week, the 49ers allowed Mark Andrews to accrue three receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown amidst terrible weather conditions for the passing game. There is no reason that Cook can’t put similar if not better numbers.

As long as the Saints don’t get stuck in a slump or their defense gets steamrolled, the Saints have everything possible to beat the 49ers. It’s not going to be an easy win but with Taysom Hill, Marcus Davenport and Jared Cook all making an impact, the Saints are more than capable.
