Big 12 Championship Game: 2020 NFL Draft prospects to watch in Baylor vs. Oklahoma
The Oklahoma Sooners and Baylor Bears face off in the Big 12 Championship Game on Saturday and these 2020 NFL Draft will be in full focus.
Getting things started in the college football conference championships on Saturday will be a matchup from AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, between the Oklahoma Sooners and Baylor Bears in the Big 12 Championship Game. And rest assured, eyes that care about the 2020 NFL Draft should be on this game to start the day.
In a rematch of a regular-season meeting that was won by Oklahoma after a comeback from being down 28-3, the Sooners have the advantage in terms of their 2020 NFL Draft talent. In fact, they could have as many as five players from their roster taken in the first round. Baylor can’t match that and, frankly, isn’t rife with draft prospects. But there are a couple worth monitoring on Saturday.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at some 2020 NFL Draft prospects to watch on Saturday on the big stage of the Big 12 Championship Game.

- Dallas Cowboys made the trade everyone else should have made
- Pittsburgh Steelers rookie sleeper everyone should be talking about
- Anthony Richardson putting jaw-dropping talent on display immediately
- Denver Broncos’ stud wide receiver might be out for a while

Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma
Upon arrival at Oklahoma, Hurts has looked like a different player than he was at Alabama. While still possessing and utilizing his trademark mobility and athleticism for the Sooners, he’s improved his deep-ball throwing and his accuracy to all levels of the field. Just how high Hurts goes remains to be seen but strong performances against Baylor and then throughout the postseason could vault his 2020 NFL Draft stock even more than he already has.
CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma
What more can you say about CeeDee Lamb that hasn’t already been said? The wide receiver is a matchup nightmare as good (not great) speed can beat teams deep, his size and length make him a threat to bring down any jump ball and his quickness and footwork make him capable of going to the house if he gets to create after the catch. He missed the first game against the Bears so it’ll be interesting to see the type of impact he can have.
Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma
If you’re a fan of physical tools, then keep your eyes on Gallimore on the interior of the Sooners defensive line. He’s a physical freak in his 6-2, 302-pound frame who moves like a guy that’s about two-thirds of his size. Gallimore has improved his consistency and motor in the 2019 season but you still want to see as much of that as you can and Saturday is a prime example of that.
James Lynch, DE, Baylor
Amidst some heavy hitters on this list, James Lynch is the player that could be the most intriguing. He put on some bulk heading into the 2019 season and that’s paid dividends for Baylor. He’s looked like a new player with much more power, though not elite athleticism. Even still, a strong performance in the Big 12 Championship Game added to his body of work, if he declares after his junior season, could make him interesting as a mid-round sleeper.
Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma
Despite huge tackle numbers that he posted last season, Kenneth Murray had a lot of questions entering the year. For the most part, he’s answered those question, specifically in regards to his speed. He looks like a potential first-round pick in 2020 at a thin position and could go a long way in showing that by containing Brewer and the Bears offense when they take off running.
Creed Humphrey, IOL, Oklahoma
Behind Tyler Biadasz, Creed Humphrey is likely the second-best interior offensive lineman in the 2020 NFL Draft class. We’ll see if he can acquit himself better on Saturday than he did in the first meeting between these two teams, though, as he struggled a bit early in that game to keep pressure out of the Oklahoma backfield.
Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor
The Baylor wide receiver entered the season with a lot to prove in regards to his refinement as a route-runner and technician. While Mims has not totally done that this season, he has continue to put his speed and long frame on display, making more than a few big plays for the Bears. If they’re going to win on Saturday, they’ll need their offensive star to rise to the occasion.
