4. Thomas has a day with 150 yards, TD

San Francisco has been arguably the stingiest pass defense in the league this season, conceding a meager 163.3 passing yards per games to opponents in 2019. Part of that is due to how wonderfully their front seven has performed this year with Nick Bosa and DeForest Buckner leading the way on the line. However, their secondary has also performed very well but they draw one of the toughest matchups in the league in Week 14: Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Thomas has been unstoppable this season, already posting 110 receptions for 1,290 yards and six touchdowns on the season in just 12 games. And as good as the Niners secondary has performed this season, they aren’t going to be able to stop Thomas on Sunday. The wide receiver will find himself open consistently and will end the day with another massive output, hitting 150 yards for the game.

3. 49ers running backs combine for 175 yards

One of the sneaky subplots of this game is the fact that the New Orleans Saints are without starting linebackers Kiko Alonso and A.J. Klein on Sunday. That’s tough for a defense to deal with in any regard but even more so against a San Francisco 49ers team that is one of the best rushing offenses in the league, averaging 148.0 yards per game on the ground as a team for the season.

With Raheem Mostert running incredibly well right now, Matt Breida returning to action and Tevin Coleman capable of breaking loose at any given moment, the 49ers seem primed to take advantage of the backup linebackers on the field for the Saints, even if New Orleans has only allowed 88.6 rushing yards per game. San Fran will essentially double that on Sunday as their trio of backs combine for 175 rushing yards in a dominant showing.
