Stud: Matt Ryan

Matt Ryan once again led the way for Atlanta’s offense in the game, which has been a familiar storyline since Ryan broke into the NFL and began suiting up for the Falcons. On Sunday afternoon in the 20-point victory against the Panthers, Ryan once again was able to record over 300 yards passing through the air while also throwing for a pair of touchdowns.

The veteran quarterback finished with 313 yards passing and two touchdowns while completing 20 of his overall 34 pass attempts. More importantly, Ryan did a nice job of not turning the ball over or throwing an interception throughout the course of the game en route to a nice win at home.

Dud: Getting off to slow starts

This portion of the Atlanta performance on Sunday afternoon is a minor one for the simple fact that they ended up scoring 40 points at the end of the game, but the Falcons once again displayed some issues with coming out of the gate firing as they have done many times up to this point in the 2019 campaign.

Atlanta scored just three points in the opening quarter but did end up tallying 37 points over the course of the final three frames against Carolina.

Moving forward in the final few games of the regular season, it would be good to see Atlanta be able to stretch out that offensive outburst it displayed in the second half and have it occur more so at the beginning of the game to take an opponent out of the matchup early on.
