2. San Francisco 49ers (2)

When looking at the previous heartbreak surrounding the San Francisco 49ers following a tough loss in Week 13 to the Baltimore Ravens on the road, the team seemed to be heading towards a similar path against the New Orleans Saints.

Trailing 20-7 early on in the second quarter, there were plenty of football fans that started to write the 49ers off in Week 14 before San Francisco found a way to pull off the ultimate comeback, and earn a thrilling 48-46 win.

The fact that Sunday’s contest between these two NFC teams resulted in a combined 94 points shows the kind of excitement surrounding this game, and if they happened to meet again in January with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, no one would be surprised at all.

Also, as thrilled as the 49ers were to defeat the Saints on the road to make another huge statement over being a top team to beat in the NFC, just imagine their reaction when they saw the Los Angles Rams found a way to defeat the Seattle Seahawks.

In a span of a week, San Francisco fell from the No. 1 seed to the Wild Card, only to earn the top seed once again heading into Week 15.
