Stud: D.K. Metcalf, WR

With Tyler Lockett practically missing in action over the past several weeks, D.K. Metcalf has stepped up his game. Since Week 9, the rookie second-round pick is averaging 76 receiving yards and over five receptions per game. He has 27 receptions, 381 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown during that five-game span.

On the reverse side of things, Lockett’s once Pro Bowl-caliber season is declining quickly. Over the past four games, Lockett has just eight catches for 107 yards. He averaged 85.2 receiving yards through Seattle’s first nine games of the season but, after the last four games, that average is down to 67.2 for the season.

While Lockett struggled again in Week 14, Metcalf posted his third-best game of the season. The Ole Miss product caught all six of the passes that came his way for 78 yards.

Dud: Josh Gordon, WR

When the Seahawks initially picked up Josh Gordon, people overrated to the signing. Some individuals even claimed the move gave Seattle one of the best receiving corps in the league. All of those people forgot that this isn’t 2013.

Yes, Gordon led the NFL in receiving yards at the age of 22, when he was with the Cleveland Browns in 2013. However, he has never even come close to that level of play since. Gordon is now 28, and he’s the fourth receiving option in Seattle’s offense, trailing Jacob Hollister, Lockett and Metcalf.

On Sunday night, Gordon made two catches on five targets for 34 yards. That’s all the Seahawks can expect from him moving forward. He’s a decent player, not a great or even a good player, just a decent player.
