Stud: Quandre Diggs S

One year after signing Diggs to a three-year $18.6 million contract extension, the Detroit Lions traded him to Seattle for a fifth-round pick. The move was a steal for the Seahawks, who received a player more than capable of replacing the injured Tedric Thompson.

Since joining Seattle, Diggs has three interceptions, three passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He’s accomplished all of this in just four games, quickly making him Seattle’s most-impactful defensive back this season. Against the Rams, Diggs intercepted two passes, one of which he returned 55 yards for a touchdown.

Dud: Russell Wilson QB

There was a time when Wilson was a lock to appear in these articles as a stud. However, while his team continues to win, Wilson’s performances are not matching the great shows he put on early in the season. At this rate, Wilson’s MVP candidacy will sink, and Lamar Jackson will walk away with the award.

For the first half of the season, Wilson carried Seattle’s offense. However, he’s struggled in recent weeks and that trend continued in Week 14. Wilson completed 22 of 36 pass attempts for 245 yards and an interception. It was his first game this season without a touchdown pass and his fourth consecutive game with an interception thrown.

In his first nine games, Wilson threw 22 touchdowns and one interception. During that time, he posted a 118.2 passer rating and completed 68.26 percent of his pass attempts. In the last four games, Wilson has four touchdowns and four interceptions. His passer rating is 82.7, and his completion percentage has fallen to 63.49 percent.

2019 looked like it was finally Wilson’s MVP season, but unless he produces some big games down the stretch, this will be just another season for the future Hall of Famer. He might have led the MVP race heading into Week 14, but the crown belongs to Jackson at this point.
