Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-7) at Detroit Lions (3-9-1)

Sunday, December 15, 1PM ET

If there’s one player in this league who you never know what you’re going to get from him on any given play, it’s Jameis Winston. In the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Week 14 win, he scored five touchdowns, threw three interceptions and helped his team squeak out the victory.

Against the Detroit Lions, it wouldn’t surprise me to see more of the same. Winston is clearly a talented passer, but can’t seem to get it together in terms of making smart, low-risk throws. It’s not just an option for him. That’s why he currently leads the league in interceptions with 23 — seven ahead of the next man on the list.

As crazy as it seems, that may still be enough to get the W against the Lions. They’ve been a mess for most of the season, evidenced by their record and current six-game losing streak. Matthew Stafford falling to injury didn’t help, but Detroit has still been a dumpster fire. The offense isn’t running well behind a third-string quarterback, and the defense is just waiting for it to be January.

Apart from Winston’s endless turnovers, the Buccaneers have actually looked good as of late. Although they’re officially eliminated from playoff contention, they’ve won four of their last five. It’s hurting their draft positioning, but why not add another win? Good for morale and job security, right?

Prediction: Buccaneers win 32-24
