Denver Broncos (5-8) at Kansas City Chiefs (9-4)

Sunday, December 15, 1PM ET

There are a lot of folks out there picking the Broncos to win this one. I get it — the Broncos are coming off a surprising defeat of the Texans following the emergence of rookie gunslinger Drew Lock. However, that doesn’t mean they’re suddenly going to run rampant on the rest of the NFL.

Yes, the Broncos are a more complete team with Lock playing well. They’ve already got a strong defense, and a competent offense gives them a roster worth taking seriously. And yet, the Kansas City Chiefs have been a relatively completely team for months now. So why write them off just because their opponent has won a couple of games in a row?

In case you didn’t know, the Chiefs have rattled off three straight wins. They just took down the Patriots, and secured two divisional wins prior to that. With another divisional rival coming to town, I would imagine they’ll approach this matchup with the same gusto. Patrick Mahomes may have an injured hand, but he should still give the Broncos defense a run for its money.

Lock may be playing well, but he’s still a rookie. He’s bound to hit a wall eventually. The Kansas City defense has been playing splendid football, and will bring the youngster back down to Earth in the tune of several sacks and at least a couple of turnovers.

Prediction: Chiefs win 25-20
