Seattle Seahawks (10-3) at Carolina Panthers (5-8)

Sunday, December 15, 1PM ET

The Carolina Panthers are caught in a downward spiral. They’ve lost five games in a row, and the parting of ways with Ron Rivera didn’t help on Sunday. The going won’t get any easier on Sunday when they face off with a Seattle Seahawks team desperate to get back on track.

Obviously the Seahawks are reeling a bit as well. They’re coming off an ugly loss to the Los Angeles Rams during which they failed to muster a single offensive touchdown. Russell Wilson hasn’t been his MVP-caliber self in recent weeks, and playing against a Carolina defense that has tallied 48 sacks this season will only make things more difficult.

Luckily for Wilson, I believe the Seattle defense should have enough in them to keep Kyle Allen and Co. in check. The Panthers are capable of going off on offense, but the Seahawks should have their number on Sunday. That is, assuming the Seattle offense doesn’t continue to come up short.

As long as the Seahawks can use their run game to take pressure off Wilson and the defense delivers, they should cruise to victory in this one. Then again, Seattle has spent all season coming up with close victories. Will they do it again in Week 15? I think so.

Prediction: Seahawks win 26-23
