5. Philadelphia Eagles

Lucky or not, all that matters for the Philadelphia Eagles from last weekend is they found a way to fight back to defeat the New York Giants in overtime to keep their hopes of winning the NFC East in better shape.

More from NFL Spin Zone

The fact that Philadelphia and the Dallas Cowboys are each in the running to win the division despite 6-7 records shows just how much of a joke the NFC East really is, but as long as it gets one of the teams to the playoffs, this is all they really care about.

While the Cowboys will face a difficult challenge in the Los Angeles Rams, the Eagles will see a familiar face in the Washington Redskins.

Believe it or not, Washington nearly pulled off what would have been a crazy upset in Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers, although this could be used as motivation for Sunday’s game with the Eagles.

The circumstances are a little different compared to Week 1 when these rivals met for the first time, but Washington seems capable of handing Philadelphia their fourth loss in five games.

And if this happens, it’s only going to add extra pressure to the Eagles for their showdown with the Cowboys in Philadelphia during Week 16.
