Green Bay Packers: 7-Round 2020 mock draft rejuvenates offense
The Green Bay Packers don’t necessarily have any dire needs at defensive back. They have Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage manning the safety spots while Jaire Alexander and Kevin King have emerged as solid options at corner. However, it’s never a bad thing to add depth and versatility in the secondary.
Florida State’s Levonta Taylor can give that. While undersized, he presents great instincts as a coverage player while also having played both corner and safety for the Seminoles. Presenting him to Green Bay as a movable piece on passing downs would help to further improve the defense.
If you’ve been on draft Twitter at all, you’re familiar with Antonio Gandy-Golden out of Liberty. The wide receiver seemed misplaced at a smaller independent school largely because he’s bigger, faster and better than everyone around him. While he feasted on mismatches at Liberty, he still has NFL-caliber physical traits. And as Green Bay is looking to bolster their receiving corps moving forward, he’s well worth a seventh-round pick to see if he can succeed against top competition.
With Marcedes Lewis set to become a free agent after the 2019 season and with Jimmy Graham remaining an inconsistent player on offense, the Packers could stand to add something to the tight end room. Joey Magnifico out of Memphis presents an interesting flier in that regard.
Magnifico is severely underdeveloped as a route-runner and blocker, meaning he’s very much a project for the Packers to stash and work with for a year. The physical tools are enticing, however, with speed and solid hands that could make him a weapon in the passing game. He also has a long frame that could serve him well if he learns how to block with technique.
