Stud: Vikings defense

Minnesota’s defense had its way with the Los Angeles offense and that ultimately led to the Vikings putting together one of their more dominant performances on the defensive end of the field this season. In the win on the road in Week 15, Minnesota managed to record a total of seven turnovers in the game, including recovering four fumbles and tallying three interceptions.

Those turnovers, which occurred throughout the entire game, helped set the tone early on and led to Minnesota being able to take Los Angeles out of the game in the opening few quarters to pull out the win.

Dud: Giving up big passing plays

The Vikings’ pass defense has been an area of concern really all season long, and such was the case once again in Week 15 on the road against the Chargers.

Los Angeles managed to record 307 yards through the air in the game, including hauling in one passing touchdown. Keenan Allen and Mike Williams were two Chargers wide receivers that had the largest amount of success against the Vikings defense, both breaking out for some large completions in the game.

In the final two games, Minnesota needs to try and correct those concerns on the defensive side of the ball and against the passing game if it wants to make a run in the playoffs.
