Kansas City Chiefs (10-4) at Chicago Bears (7-7)

Sunday, December 22, 8:20PM ET

The Chicago Bears are officially out of the playoff hunt following their loss and the Vikings’ win in Week 15. Now, they adopt the role of spoiler, looking to topple teams still vying for playoff spots and positioning. Can they keep the Kansas City Chiefs from a first-round bye?

Well I’m not sure if the Chiefs will get that high in the seeding, but it won’t be because of the Bears. As solid as Chicago has been at times in 2019, they don’t have enough defensive or offensive talent to take down the Chiefs — even in the friendly confines of Soldier Field.

Sure, the Chicago defense will make some plays and keep Patrick Mahomes uncomfortable in the pocket. However, if you’re expecting Mitchell Trubisky and the Bears offense to keep the points flowing on Sunday, you best temper expectations. The Kansas City defense has been dominant down the stretch, and should be prepared to shut things down in Week 16.

It’s time for the Chiefs to prove whether or not they should be considered among the AFC’s best this postseason. While a win against the 7-7 Bears isn’t the perfect statement, it should be more than enough to put the rest of the conference’s top dogs on notice.

Prediction: Chiefs win 31-17
