On Sunday against Jacksonville at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, this Falcons defensive unit will once again be set up to have a nice week against an AFC opponent.
Coming into the Week 16 contest, Jacksonville is averaging 344.8 total yards per game, which ranks 20th in the NFL. The Jaguars also rank 14th in the league in passing yards per contest (235.8), while averaging 109.0 rushing yards per game, which ranks 15th.
Although the Falcons defense got off to somewhat of a slow start to the year and that resulted in putting more pressure on Matt Ryan and the rest of the Atlanta offense to put up a large number of points on their end of the field to try and keep the Falcons in games weekly, the Falcons defense has taken a step in the right direction over the course of the last handful of weeks.
On Sunday as it welcomes in Jacksonville to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the final regular-season contest of the 2019 campaign, Atlanta will step up on the defensive side of the ball and that will allow the Falcons offense to operate with ease throughout the game.
