3. DE/OLB Jadeveon Clowney, Seattle Seahawks

2019 Salary: $8,000,000

Where he will sign: Seattle Seahawks

My apologies. I know it’s far more interesting when predicting that top-tier free agents sign elsewhere. However, I just can’t imagine the Seattle Seahawks letting Jadeveon Clowney go after what they gave up to acquire him from the Texans ahead of the 2019 season.

The Seahawks have more than enough cap space to get a deal done for Clowney, who has proven to be a human wrecking ball for Seattle this season despite not stuffing the stat sheet. Although it could very well mean making high the costliest defensive player in the NFL, there’s just no way John Schneider lets him leave after seeing what he could do.

Clowney has been noncommittal about his future, but he seems to be enjoying his time in the Emerald City. Assuming the two sides can come to terms of compensation, it seems easy to imagine Clowney staying in Seattle for the foreseeable future.

I’m sure there will be plenty of teams hoping for the opportunity to woo Clowney away from the Seahawks. If I had to guess, though, I’d say that said opportunity will never present itself, as Seattle will find some way to keep the former No. 1 overall pick in place.
