4. Bears vs. Chiefs

A few weeks ago, this game against the Kansas City Chiefs seemed more meaningful since the Chicago Bears were still hanging on for their playoff lives, but also there will be plenty on the line.

While the Chiefs hope to continue heating up at the perfect time, and work their way into earning a first-round bye in the AFC playoff picture, the next two weeks could be viewed as an audition for Mitch Trubisky.

Despite all of the previous criticism from certain times throughout the regular season, Trubisky was playing pretty well up until Week 15, and seems more deserving of continuing to be the starter beyond the 2019 season.

But unless Trubisky finds a way to put up a ton of points on Sunday against the Chiefs, the Bears could find it difficult to keep things close.

No one needs to explain just how difficult it is to keep Patrick Mahomes and the rest of Kansas City’s offense in check when the reigning MVP is on top of his game.

Chicago’s defense has been a dangerous unit in the league over the last few seasons, and if they can apply the necessary pressure on Mahomes, this contest could be closer than originally expected.
