Stud: Ending the home schedule on a high note

At home this season, Atlanta hasn’t been as dominant as we have been used to seeing out of it in years past, finishing the year with a below-.500 record for the first time in the last handful of seasons.

The Falcons, however, were able to end the 2019 season on a high note in front of their home fans and that will be something that they can try and build off of while looking ahead to next year moving into the offseason.

Following the win over Jacksonville, Atlanta will end the season winners in two straight home games, although the Falcons will end up carrying a record of 3-5 at home overall in 2019.

Dud: Rushing defense

Overall in the game, the Jaguars were able to hurt the Falcons the most on the ground, although they weren’t ultimately able to record a rushing touchdown in the road defeat.

In the matchup in Atlanta, Jacksonville tallied a total of 115 yards rushing on a total of 24 carries, being led by Leonard Fournette with 15 rushes for 71 yards in the game. At the end of the day, this is a minor blemish for the Falcons but has continued to be an area Atlanta has struggled in throughout the course of the season to this point.
