2. Patriots defense continues dominance

New England has held one of the top defensive units in the entire NFL. Its ability to hold opponents in check on that side of the field allowed for the Patriots offense to do what it does best in extending leads and pulling away from opponents en route to a 12-4 record.

Throughout the regular season, New England ranked near the top in multiple defensive categories around the league. The Patriots ranked first in the NFL in total yards given up per contest (275.9), first points given up on average (14.1) and managed to haul in a league-best 25 interceptions throughout the course of the year.

On the other side of the line of scrimmage, New England will get a nice test when it comes to what Tennessee is able to do on offense.

The Titans come into the postseason averaging 362.8 total yards per game, which ranked 12th-best in the league. They also managed to average 25.1 points per game, which was good enough to rank 10th in the NFL.

It will be entertaining to see how the Patriots defense matches up against the Titans offense on Saturday night in the AFC Wild Card Game, but ultimately New England will flex its muscles on the defensive side of the ball and will continue to display its dominance to advance in the playoffs.
