5. Aaron Rodgers posts lackluster numbers

For as long as Aaron Rodgers has been the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, the team has been associated with living and dying by the success of their signal caller. Rodgers is considered to be the most talented quarterback of all-time by many, carrying the Packers in seasons when the rest of the team lacked sufficient depth.

That was not the case in 2019. In a season where the Packers finished 13-3, Rodgers was not the main catalyst for the team’s overall success.

For starters, Rodgers was not very accurate compared to seasons’ past. He finished with the second-lowest completion percentage of his career (62.0), only higher than his 2015 season (60.7). There were

Rodgers also barely eclipsed 4,000 passing yards (he had 4,002), and threw just 26 touchdown passes, the second-lowest amount in a single season in which he started all 16 games. His 7.0 yards per pass attempt was also tied for the second-lowest of his career, only better than in 2015 when he posted 6.7 yards per attempt. Finally, Rodgers’ 95.4 passer rating was the third-lowest in a single season in which he started all 16 games.

In the end, the numbers don’t matter too much because the Packers have found other ways to win. But in the playoffs, Rodgers may need to turn up the heat.
