Over the last couple of years, Cook has proven to be an absolute workhorse on offense for the Vikings, and it’s tough to imagine Minnesota leaving New Orleans with a win if it weren’t for his presence in the backfield.
By rushing for 94 yards with two touchdowns on 28 carries, Cook was able to help remove some of the extra pressure on Kirk Cousins and should be in for another heavy workload against the San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers’ defense played a major role in helping the team earn the top overall seed in the NFC playoff picture, and if the Vikings are fortunate enough to be in the red zone on numerous occasions throughout the contest, chances are Cook is going to be getting the football.
Even when Minnesota isn’t in the red zone, the Vikings are smart enough to know how much of a difference maker Cook can be with the football in his hands as much as possible.
