3. Joe Judge, New York Giants

In what may have been the most surprising hiring of the offseason, the New York Giants made the decision to hire former New England Patriots special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach Joe Judge as their new head coach.

When looking at some of the previous names that were thrown around as candidates, the hiring of Judge was the last move anyone expected to see a team in the Giants make, but also his press conference alone seemed to make it clear that New York did their homework.

After taking a step back in 2019 under Pat Shurmur, the Giants aren’t in position where they can afford to let another season with potential go to waste with looking at the young talent on the offensive side of the football.

Not only did Saquon Barkley finish 2019 on a strong note to show the future is bright in New York at running back, but Daniel Jones turned out to be better than originally expected.

Keep in mind the Giants took a ton of heat for their decision to go with the former Duke star in the draft last April since there were plenty of other quarterbacks available, but similar to the situation with Judge, the Giants clearly did their homework on Jones.

With this strong duo on offense, Judge will have plenty to work with heading into his first season as head coach with New York.
