Green Bay Packers (2) at San Francisco 49ers (1)

Sunday, January 19, 6:40PM ET

The last time these two played back in November, the 49ers crushed the Packers to the tune of a 37-8 victory. It was a signature win for San Francisco, and one that helped them prove they were one of the teams to beat in the NFC.

Expect similar results in the NFC Championship Game.

Why? Because the 49ers have the perfect formula for beating the Packers. On offense, they’re more than capable of nullifying the Green Bay pass rush. Their run game is dangerous, and Jimmy Garoppolo thrives on the short passing game. He gets the ball out of his hands quickly, and his receivers create yards after the catch. It’s the perfect way to keep top pass rushers at bay.

On defense, the 49ers will find a way to make Aaron Rodgers uncomfortable all game long. They’ve got arguably the most talented defensive line in the league, plenty of playmaking linebackers and one of the best cornerbacks in the game. Davante Adams feasted in the Divisional Round, but shouldn’t see nearly as much success against Richard Sherman.

Especially with the Levi Stadium faithful at their backs, the 49ers should come away with the win. Kyle Shanahan has done a great job of preparing his squad for top competition this season, and that’ll still be the case this upcoming weekend.

The Packers flew under the radar this season, but San Francisco’s about to shoot them down.

Prediction: 49ers win 31-20
