2020 NFL Draft: 10 Teams that should try to trade up for Joe Burrow at No. 1
By Dan Parzych
6. Pittsburgh Steelers
The 2019 season was the perfect example of just how valuable Ben Roethlisberger is to the offense of the Pittsburgh Steelers after the veteran quarterback suffered a season-ending elbow injury early on in September.
While the Steelers certainly deserve credit for finding a way to turn their season around, and even be part of the playoff conversation before collapsing in the final three weeks, they most likely never would have gone far anyway with their quarterback situation.
Both Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges made it clear they are both work in progresses when it comes to being reliable NFL quarterbacks after seeing some of their struggles once Big Ben went down.
In fact, this is another situation in which there are no guarantees that either one of these two quarterbacks will end up being one of the successors to Roethlisberger, meaning a trade for Burrow could always be possible.
Since Roethlisberger has hinted at possibly retiring soon in previous years, it only makes sense for Pittsburgh to figure out his successor sooner rather than later, whether it ends up being Burrow or someone else.
Otherwise, it will only make things more difficult for the Steelers in the future when it comes to contending in the AFC.
