UCLA. . 836. Tight End. Devin Asiasi. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Devin Asiasi measures in at 6-3 and weighs an incredible 279 pounds. Despite that weight, he is a very athletic tight end. He runs good routes and he impresses after the catch as well, and that helps him get open. Also, he has a large catch radius, greatly helping the quarterback complete passes.

UCLA didn’t emphasize blocking for Asiasi but he has the tools to be a devastating blocker. He carries his weight well and has the strength to be effective. He could be of great help to the offensive line, especially helping in the run game.

Asiasi already has seen three different offenses in his college career. He started out in Michigan, but the California native decided to play closer to home so he transferred to UCLA. At Pasadena he played under two coaches, first Jedd Fisch, then Chip Kelly.

He got a chance to learn different ways a tight end can play in an offense. Being able to learn different offenses fairly quickly, he’ll be able to learn Nagy’s offense without many problems.

In 2019, Asiasi had 44 catches for 641 yards and four touchdowns. He stepped up after making six catches for 130 yards and one touchdown as a backup in 2018. He averaged 15.4 yards per catch at UCLA so he has the ability to make big plays in the passing game. He’d be a good security blanket for the quarterback at the next level.
