While Darnay Holmes may not have the elite size that some teams covet, measuring in at 5-10, 192 pounds, the UCLA product has all of the coverage ability that any team in the NFL should want. The way that he’s able to move quickly to react and keep with receivers to make plays but also turn on the burners to cover down the field make him an incredibly high-upside prospect as a true cover corner.

If there’s a concern with Holmes, it’s his physicality and tackling. However, the Raiders need cover corners right now and, with the culture that Gruden is building with this team, there’s a good chance that the athletically-gifted Holmes can be inspired to be a more physical player. Either way, he’s a plus addition for the Las Vegas defense because of what he can do in defending the pass.

Just because the Las Vegas Raiders sign Tom Brady does not mean they can stand pat at quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft. For as much of a boost as Brady would give them, he’s still entering his mid-40s and won’t be in the league for that much longer. Thus, the Raiders need to be forward-thinking in finding a prospect that has starter potential but might need some development before he’s able to get there.

In that regard, Jalen Hurts is the perfect prospect. Finishing his college career at Oklahoma after his time at Alabama, Hurts steadily improved as a passer while maintaining enticing athleticism and rushing ability from the position. He still needs work on his progressions and accuracy moving forward but, given time to work behind Brady, Vegas could strike gold by taking him and letting him learn for a couple of years.
