4. Josh Jones, OT, Houston

Jones played left tackle in college, and Seattle is secure at that spot right now. That alone may remove him from Seattle’s draft board, but the Seahawks need offensive linemen. While Jones plays on the other side of the line, he’s the most likely tackle prospect to still be on the board at No. 27.

Seattle’s offseason plan for the offensive line will influence their search for linemen in the draft. As it stands, George Fant, Joey Hunt, Germain Ifedi, and Mike Iupati will all test free agency this offseason. Those four linemen started 46 games for the Seahawks this past season, meaning the Seahawks need to replace a lot of production.

If there’s any hope of moving Jones to right tackle and he’s available at 27, Seattle might pull the trigger. A strong performance at the Senior Bowl raised his draft stock, and Jones possesses all of the physical gifts necessary to become a full-time starter.

Analysts and scouts note some concerns with his technique and hand usage, which is still raw. Perhaps this analysis is too similar to what scouts said about Ifedi when Seattle took him with the 31st pick in 2016. While Ifedi improved each season in the NFL, he never delivered on his draft pedigree.

Mekhi Becton, Andrew Thomas, Jedrick Wills Jr. and Tristan Wirfs make up the four top offensive linemen heading into the draft process. It is unlikely Seattle will get any of them unless the Seahawks trade up.
