Denver Broncos build around Drew Lock in 7-round 2020 mock draft
By Lucas Schuh
One thing already addressed was the need for the Broncos to acquire another cornerback. The need for a cornerback is even more exaggerated because Chris Harris Jr. is also entering free agency this offseason. As he’s one of the better corners in the league, he will likely command a big contract, which is why Kristian Fulton is a good pickup for the Broncos

Fulton will likely be one of the top cornerbacks taken in the 2020 NFL Draft due to his talent as a true coverage corner. Fulton has the ability to break up any pass while in man coverage and, while playing at LSU, he succeeded at a high level when working in press-man coverage.
The Ed Orgeron disciple is a very sticky corner who can stick with almost any receiver while playing in man coverage. He has the speed and quickness to stay with most receivers and the ability to flip his hips with the best of them.
The one real weakness that Fulton may have is his lack of size. He isn’t the biggest cornerback in the world and that can sometimes lead him in struggling with tackling. Fulton’s lack of strength can also be a problem occasionally in 50-50 ball situations.
On the whole, though, Fulton’s ability to mirror players and potentially be a shutdown corner alleviates his minor concerns. Even if he’s burned on occasional contested-catch situations, his overall impact will outweigh that in the grander scheme.
