2. Carolina Panthers

In each of the last two seasons, the Carolina Panthers appeared to be a lock for the playoffs during the first two months of action, only to watch it all fall apart during the second half of the year.

With all due respect to Ron Rivera since the former head coach certainly had plenty of great years with the Panthers, the team made the right decision moving on before the end of 2019 since a fresh start for both parties seemed necessary.

Now, Carolina hopes to see Matt Rhule turn the team around similar to the way he did during previous stints at Temple and Baylor, although the NFL is completely different from the college level.

But before the Panthers get too excited about the possibility of Rhule turning things around right away, the team needs to figure out their quarterback situation.

While Carolina could always decide to roll with Cam Newton or Kyle Allen, Rhule deserves to have a quarterback of his choice.

Does this mean Winston could be the kind of quarterback that Rhule would prefer to work with to help make things easier during his first year with the Panthers?

Some will make the case that Carolina would be better off focusing on a quarterback in the draft, but since Winston is experienced, this could be the better move.
