4. Trade down for more draft capital

Cleveland only has six picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, with four selections in the first four rounds. As a result, the Browns could possibly trade down to secure more picks in the middle and later rounds, which could prove to be a very smart decision on their behalf.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Last year, the Denver Broncos traded the 10th pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 20th overall pick, a 2019 second-round pick and a 2020 third-rounder. If the Browns decide to trade down, acquiring more draft capital on Days 2 and 3 this year and possibly next year as well could be beneficial. This is a deep 2020 NFL Draft class and they could address multiple needs in a big way.

If they do trade down in the first round from No. 10, an interesting prospect to look at would be USC offensive tackle Austin Jackson. He is sure to be available in the later stages of the first round and would be an excellent addition. Another possibility would be Iowa tackle Tristan Wirfs, who has the ability to come in and play tackle or possibly move to guard.

3. Grant Delpit, S, LSU

The Browns really need an elite safety and Grant Delpit is the top prospect at the position in the 2020 NFL Draft class by my estimation. The LSU Tigers star’s eight interceptions in three years playing in the Bayou showcases his playmaking ability, particularly in coverage. And when he’s willing to play physical, Delpit is capable against the run.

He has had a small problem with inconsistency as a tackler but that is not a worry as he still has proven throughout his college career he can make the open field tackles. A versatile player on the back end, Delpit could be a day one starter for the Browns.
