1. Indianapolis Colts

At 38 years old, Rivers won’t thrive in an offense where he faces constant pressure. He never showed the escape-ability flashed by players like Russell Wilson or even the ability to extend plays like Roethlisberger in his youth. He won’t add that skill now.

Luckily, the Colts boast one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. Left tackle Anthony Castonzo will enter free agency this spring, but the Colts should prioritize bringing back their 2011 first-round pick. The other four linemen are under contract for at least one more year. Ryan Kelly‘s contract ends after this coming season, but the other three extend beyond 2020.

Beyond the offensive line, Indianapolis offers several other hot commodities. Marlon Mack emerged as one of the NFL’s best young running backs in 2018, and his play carried over to 2019. Over the past two seasons, the USF product averaged 76.9 rushing yards per game. If he remains healthy for a full season, Mack can easily make the Pro Bowl.

Four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, T.Y. Hilton also struggles with injuries. In 2019, Hilton turned in the worst season of his career, finishing with only 45 receptions for 501 yards and five touchdowns in ten games. However, Hilton still has an average of over 1,000 receiving yards per season during his career. With Rivers throwing the ball, Hilton can return to his dominant form.

The Colts are one year removed from a 10-6 season a looking like a Super Bowl contender. Rivers can’t fix all of Indianapolis’s problems, but he can catapult the team back into title contention.
