NFL Trade Rumors: 5 Teams that should trade for Darius Slay
4. Seattle Seahawks
Make no mistake, the Seattle Seahawks have some tough free agency decisions to make this offseason. Jadeveon Clowney, Jarran Reed and Ezekiel Ansah are all set to hit the open market and you have to believe Seattle will look to re-sign at least part of that group. At the same time, however, this is a secondary that very clearly needs to be reworked as they head into the 2020 season and beyond.

While Shaquill Griffin, a 2017 third-round pick, had the best season of his young career in 2019, Tre Flowers still left a lot to be desired while depth pieces such as Akeem King and Neiko Thorpe are also set to become free agents. The addition of Slay would immediately given Seattle a dynamic 1-2 punch on the outside at corner if they choose to make a big play for the Pro Bowler in Detroit.
3. Cincinnati Bengals
Despite coming out of the 2019 season where they finished with the worst record in the NFL, the Cincinnati Bengals aren’t in the friendliest position in terms of the salary cap, ranking in the middle of the league with $44.87 million in cap space. Having said that, this is also a franchise that’s on the verge of a rebuild, evidenced by the widespread belief that they’re about to take Joe Burrow with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Having said that, the Bengals aren’t just in need of a cornerback. This is a roster with obvious holes on both sides of the ball and the secondary is not excluded. William Jackson III is the only player at cornerback that you feel confident in for the future in Cincinnati, which would make trading for Slay an enticing option. It depends on if that’s where they want to spend money given the state of the franchise but it should be a move at least discussed by the Bengals.
