3. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have the least cap space of any team on this list. With Ronald Darby and Jalen Mills entering free agency, Philadelphia needs cornerback help. Not only can their current corners not stay healthy, they cannot compete against elite wide receivers.

Darby arguably played the best out of all of Philly’s corners last year. However, that isn’t something to brag about. Rasul DouglasSidney Jones and Avonte Maddox all struggled to perform consistently. That’s the thing with this group; they can have standout individual games, but they never put together great full seasons.

If the Eagles pair Jones with Malcolm Jenkins in the secondary, hopefully things will at least stabilize. Philadelphia’s defensive front can play at an elite level, so beefing up the secondary will create a well-rounded defense. However, the Eagles are more than one corner away from fixing the secondary.

By deciding to decline Nigel Bradham‘s 2020 team option on Feb. 18, the Eagles saved $4.4 million in cap space. The Eagles are conscious of their current position. In the volatile NFC East, Philadelphia can control its destiny. With the right offseason moves and a season free of catastrophic injuries, the Eagles will at least make it to the second round of the playoffs.
