4. Denver Broncos

For years, Denver’s cornerbacks served as a point of strength for the franchise. Champ Bailey gave way to Aqib Talib, who helped develop Chris Harris. Now, as Harris enters NFL free agency, the Broncos can add another Pro Bowl cornerback to the team’s history.

Beyond the Kansas City Chiefs, the AFC West is wide open. A Wild Card team could conceivably get out of the West, and the Broncos sport some of the best young players in that division. However, the Broncos need someone who can play alongside Bryce Callahan in the secondary. Jones certainly can be that man.

Alone Jones cannot save the mediocre Broncos, but adding the former All-Pro can finally get Denver moving in the right direction again. With Justin Simmons potentially entering free agency, Denver has work to do this offseason. Fans can see if the current front office and coaching staff are up to the task of fixing the team.

Broncos fans can be somewhat optimistic about 2020. Besides finally getting to see Drew Lock take over, Courtland Sutton looks like the real deal. Noah Fant should also get more involved in his second season. Plus, Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman combine to form one of the best one-two punches in the NFL.

On the defensive side of the ball, Denver gets Callahan and Bradley Chubb back from injured reserve. Kareem Jackson looks excellent at safety, which is why retaining Simmons could be so important. Jackson and Simmons could form one of the best safety duos in the league. All the team needs is a better offensive line and a shutdown cornerback.
