Baltimore Ravens retool for another playoff run in 7-round 2020 mock draft
By Lucas Schuh
The Ravens had one of the better defenses in the NFL in 2019 but still has room for improvement. And one place that this defense needs improvement is within their pass rush. To be more specific, Baltimore needs pass-rushers who can win on their own. For the most part, while the pass-rush succeeded in 2019, it was more scheme-dependent than the product of the individual players winning on their own.

While at Boise State, Curtis Weaver was nothing short of great. Weaver dominated almost every team he came up against while playing in the Mountain West. But even though Weaver dominated his conference competition, teams may be wary of him given the level of competition. Doubting his ability due to that, however, would be a mistake.
Weaver has incredible hands with a good, strong punch when playing against offensive tackles at any level, as well as having a very good rip move. Another big bonus in Weaver’s favor is his positional versatility.
For the Broncos throughout his college career, Weaver lined up as a defensive end and stand up outside linebacker. While playing outside linebacker, Weaver looked comfortable while dropping into coverage when asked to do so.
Weaver is a good player who fills a need that the Ravens have. Most importantly, their first-round pick in this mock draft gives Baltimore a player who is capable of winning on his own, regardless of the blitzes or defensive designs.
Other Players Available: Terrell Lewis, Kenneth Murray, Zack Baun
