2020 NFL Mock Draft: Pre-Combine 3-round projection fueled by trades
Round 2 – Picks No. 33-48
33. Seattle Seahawks: Zack Baun, EDGE, Wisconsin
(Pick via Bengals) Trading out of the first round, the Seahawks first selection has them taking Zack Baun, a versatile piece on the defense that could help fill whatever they end up losing in free agency.
34. Indianapolis Colts: Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU
(Pick via Redskins) T.Y. Hilton needs some help in the wide receiver corps and Justin Jefferson is the guy to help. Offering a different skill-set and more size, the LSU product can be an asset to help this offense progress.
35. Detroit Lions: Neville Gallimore, IDL, Oklahoma
Interior defensive line isn’t the biggest need but the value of Gallimore at No. 35 is tremendous. Gallimore is a versatile athlete that can be a game-changing load that the Lions don’t have in the trenches right now.
36. New York Giants: Julian Okwara, EDGE, Notre Dame
We saw how ineffective the Giants defense was due to a lacking pass rush so they address that by taking Okwara at No. 36. Though not sexy and inconsistent, Okwara has potential to be an impact defensive addition for New York.

- Dallas Cowboys made the trade everyone else should have made
- Pittsburgh Steelers rookie sleeper everyone should be talking about
- Anthony Richardson putting jaw-dropping talent on display immediately
- Denver Broncos’ stud wide receiver might be out for a while
- Washington Commanders: Three takeaways from win over Ravens
37. Los Angeles Chargers: Cesar Ruiz, IOL, Michigan
For Herbert in the long term and whoever in the short term, the Chargers offensive line is an issue. Ruiz can come in and offer immediate help on the interior and give LA some pop in the middle.
38. Carolina Panthers: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
The Panthers secondary has been fine and nothing more, which is why Diggs is an obvious selection here. Athletic and with a great frame, his coverage ability will be a huge asset for Carolina as they look to retool the defense.
39. Miami Dolphins: Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
No rushing offense in the NFL was worse in 2019 than Miami’s, so they take steps to improve by getting Taylor here. They’ll need offensive line help to maximize his effectiveness but the Badger is an elite running back waiting to be unleashed on the professional level.
40. Arizona Cardinals: Ross Blacklock, IDL, TCU
Outside of Chandler Jones, Budda Baker and Patrick Peterson, the Cardinals defense needs strong pieces too. Blacklock has some inconsistency on film but his physical potential makes him a high-upside second-rounder.
41. Cleveland Browns: Antoine Winfield Jr., S, Minnesota
In addition to the offensive line needs, safety is of concern for the Browns. Antoine Winfield Jr. has bloodlines and film to back it up. If he can pass medically at the NFL Combine, he’s a no-brainer for Cleveland here.
42. Jacksonville Jaguars: Justin Madubuike, IDL, Texas A&M
Should he be more consistent effort-wise in the NFL, Madubuike can be a huge addition for the Jaguars on the interior. His ability to create pressure up the middle will be big for the defense returning to dominance.
43. Chicago Bears: Damon Arnette, CB, Ohio State
(Pick via Raiders) Chicago finally comes on the clock and looks to their secondary for necessary help. Arnette really blossomed in 2019 as an impressive and versatile cornerback who can immediately see the field for the Bears.
44. Indianapolis Colts: Lucas Niang, OT, TCU
Injuries and medical testing will be key for Niang but his athletic profile and film show a high-upside tackle, which the Colts could use if they lose Anthony Castonzo or need to find a long-term answer behind him.
45. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jacob Eason, QB, Washington
After passing on quarterback in the first round, the Buccaneers get a guy they have to like here in Jacob Eason. With a huge arm and physical upside, he’ll need time but has the tools to be Bruce Arians’ type of guy.
46. Denver Broncos: Brandon Aiyuk, WR, Arizona State
Courtland Sutton broke out for the Broncos in 2019 but he needs help. Enter Aiyuk, whose versatility and speed could be a huge asset for Drew Lock to work with and stabilize this offense.
47. Atlanta Falcons: J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ohio State
There’s growing talk that the Falcons could move on from Devonta Freeman this offseason so they replace him here with J.K. Dobbins as the Ohio State product can be an every-down back right away for the Atlanta offense.
48. New York Jets: Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
We could see Robby Anderson gone from the Jets in free agency, which opens the door to take Tee Higgins. Darnold needs weapons to thrive in New York and the big-bodied deep threat surely is one.
