4. Jake Kumerow

It’s been beaten into the ground at this point but one of the primary focuses of the 2020 offseason for the Packers has to be getting Aaron Rodgers more consistent weapons in the passing game outside of Davante Adams and his running backs. And as they look to add pieces to the wide receiver corps, some guys are going to be left out in the cold.

More from NFL Spin Zone

The Packers have three wide receivers that are slated to hit free agency in some form this offseason. 26-year-old Geronimo Allison will be an unrestricted free agent while Allen Lazard and Jake Kumerow are exclusive rights free agents. Of that trio of players, however, Kumerow is, bar none, the one that has shown the least in this offense with Rodgers.

At 28 years old, Kumerow has only seen the field for two seasons with Green Bay and has not produced in any consistent or meaningful manner. In 19 career games, he has only 20 receptions for 322 yards and two touchdowns. When you consider that beside Allison’s highs and Lazard’s late-season emergence in 2019, Kumerow ends up being the odd-man-out.

While Kumerow could return at a cheap price, Green Bay needs to overhaul this group as best they can. Thus, they could simply let the wide receiver walk while bringing in rookies or other free-agent options to try and mix things up and develop a better overall supporting cast in the passing offense.
