NFL free agency starts with the legal tampering period on Monday, March 16 and these are the 50 best available players on the market for 2020.

While the sports world has largely been put on hold due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, the NFL is set to wage on. Not only was a new CBA passed on Sunday with the players’ vote but now 2020 NFL free agency is ready to get underway as the legal tampering period for negotiations begins on Monday, March 16 with the new league year and NFL free agency officially beginning at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 18.

This is going to be one of the wildest ventures in NFL free agency that we’ve ever seen. Yes, there are some position groups where the talent available is scarce (wide receiver very much stands out) but with several big-name quarterbacks potentially available, including the great Tom Brady, in addition to big-ticket defenders and offensive linemen, this could get crazy.

But before 2020 NFL free agency has gotten underway even with the legal tampering period, there have already been some huge dominoes — and some medium-sized ones too — to fall. The biggest of those is that the Titans agreed to a monster four-year contract with quarterback Ryan Tannehill, running it back with the signal-caller that led them to the AFC Championship Game.

Outside of Tannehill, the Texans also agreed to bring back Bradley Roby while the Patriots have re-upped with Devin McCourty and Matthew Slater and the Colts kept veteran offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo in Indianapolis. Those are some big fish out of the free-agent pond but there are still some monster catches that could still be made.

That’s what we’re going to be looking at today — those big fish. Let’s dive into the free-agent pool after the re-signings and franchise tagging and identify the 50 best available players in 2020 NFL free agency.

Franchise tagged players (as of Sunday, March 15): A.J. Green (Bengals – reported), Hunter Henry (Chargers), Chris Jones (Chiefs – reported), Matt Judon (Ravens), Yannick Ngakoue (Jaguars), Justin Simmons (Broncos)
