Scouting Report. Round 3. Pick 68. Netane Muti. Pick Analysis. OG. player. 897

Back to the offensive line we go as the Jets pick up Fresno State guard Netane Muti. A native Hawaiian, Muti is listed at 6-foot-3 and 315-pounds and had a phenomenal 44 reps in the bench press at the Scouting Combine. And when you turn on the tape, this kid looks like a first-round talent.

So why is he here in Round 3? Unfortunately, that’s due to the risk involved with him. While with Fresno State, Muti dealt with a lot of injury concerns which might scare some teams off. For a team like New York that has two picks in this round and a rough interior line, he’s well worth taking that flier on.

Should he be able to stay healthy, this could end up looking like the best pick the team made.

Round 3. Jonathan Greenard. DE. player. 840. Pick Analysis. Pick 79. Scouting Report

After adding Netan Muti with their first pick in the third round, New York is back on the clock with the 79th overall selection. This time, they finally decide to look at the defensive side of the ball and add edge rusher Jonathan Greenard from Florida.

New York is able to wait this long since their defense was at least average in 2019. That’s not where you want to be but they’re at least a lot closer to being competitive than their offense was — finishing 32nd in yards and 31st in points.

As for Greenard, he plays one of the main positions of need on defense and is coming off a career season with 10 sacks and 53 tackles for the Gators.
